We do the menu planning, grocery shopping, prep-work and clean up. Our menu provides delicious and nutritious meals for you and your family for less than the cost of take-out or fast food. Eat Healthier, save money and spend more time doing the things you like.
2. How do I sign up for a session?
You may register for a session online, by calling our store at 757-227-6680 or in person at our store. To register online view our session menu and select a preferred session. If you have not yet done so you will be asked to create a Delightful Dish account with a user and password. You'll then choose meals for the month from our monthly menu selections. When your choices are complete, you're ready to finalize your order and checkout.
3. What can I expect at a Delightful Dish session?
On your first visit our friendly staff will welcome you with a quick tour and a print out of your menu selections for the session. We'll give you an apron and a refrigerated shelf on which to place each of your meals after you've finished preparing them. Morning session guests will enjoy fresh coffee and pastries. Afternoon and evening sessions guests will enjoy beverages and appetizers. Proceed to one of our prep stations and start assembling! Each station has a different recipe from our monthly menu. The ingredients are prepared for you and are placed in the order given in the recipe. In 5 to 10 minutes you can assemble your first meal...it's that easy! Don't worry if you make a mess, our staff is there to clean up after you and answer any questions you might have. We will provide you with complimentary pans and ziploc bags for your entrees or you may bring your own pans and baking dishes. After you've finished assembling your meal, apply the entree label on the outside of your pan or ziploc bag for easy identification and cooking instructions. Place your pan or ziploc bag on your designated refrigerated shelf or directly in your own cooler and proceed to the next open prep station. When you get home, freeze your meals and post your menu selections on your freezer door. When needed select an entree, thaw in the refrigerator overnight and it's ready for the next evening. Making dinner has never been easier!
4. Can I schedule a private session?
We would love to host a private session for you and your friends. Simply gather 6 or more people and let us know when you would like to schedule your session. We will provide special appetizers for your and your friends to enjoy as well as a complimentary wine tasting at our evening sessions.
5. How many meals will I assemble at a session?
To register for a session you must choose at least 6 meals (or 12 half entrees). If you choose 10 or more meals you will receive a reduced price per meal. We recommend registering for a full session so that you have meals for the entire month.
6. How many servings are included with each meal?
Each entree usually provides 4-6 servings depending on your family's appetite.
7. What is the price of a session?
The cost of each entree for your session is $22.00 each. When you order 10 or more entrees the price is reduced to $20.00 each. Virginia grocery tax of 2.5% is additonal. Note that our meals are NOT subject to the 10.5% tax that you are charged at restaurants and for fast food.
8. Can I get meals ready to go?
You may call us or schedule a pick up order online for one or more entrees. Pick up orders are available Tuesday thru Saturday. Please call us a day in advance to allow us time to prepare your order from scratch. All meals are ready for you to cook at home. There is a small fee per entree for pick up orders. We always have entrees ready to grab and go in our freezer, stop by or call us to see what is available.
9. Do I cook my meals at the session?
All meals are uncooked. We provide the cooking instructions for you to cook your meals at home.
10. What if I need to reschedule my session?
If you need to reschedule your session, we will do everything we can to accommodate you. Since we prepare the ingredients for your order from scratch especially for you we ask that you provide 48 hours notice. If you cancel a session or pick up order with more than 48 hours in advance of your booking, you will receive a full refund. Cancellations made less then 48 hours in advance of your session will be subject to a 25% cancellation fee.
We understand that life is unpredictable and we will be happy (even at the last minute) to assemble your meals for you at no extra charge if you cannot attend your session. We are even happy to put them in our freezer for you until you can come by.
11. Can I make changes to a entree?
At our sessions you assemble the meals and are free to make changes to suit your own taste. Feel free to omit the pork in our stir-fry and add more vegetables for a vegetarian dish. If your family does not like onions or garlic feel free to leave them out. Like a spicy dish add more of our delicious fresh roasted garlic. We are happy to make adjustments for you on any pick up orders. If you have a special need such as non-dairy or low fat let us know and we will do everything we can to accommodate you.
12. What if I have a small family or I am single?
We offer 12 meals for 2 (2-3 servings each) at our sessions and for pick up.
13. Do you offer vegetarian entrees?
We usually have a vegetarian entree on our menu or something that can be converted to vegetarian.
